Lessons to be more confident

Image
Break your comfort zone  - There's only one way of peaking your personality/persona and i.e getting out of your comfort zone , same actions can never produce different results ,if you want to feel confident in your skin then you have to make efforts for it. That's pretty lame right ,but the only way to break your comfort zone is to make a decision and never think about the consequences .of course you will have to face failures and things will get awkward for sure but that's the only way how you can learn to deal with unfamiliarity. So do it before regrets starts appearing on your face. Acceptance  - Confidence emanates from self-love .This is not a philosophy but a reality. you will get respect from others when you will start loving yourself .Comparing yourself with others in inevitable and biological , so we as humans cannot overcome this desire to be better but we can understand that human is nuanced and we can always thrive to be a better version of ourselves .Bottom-lin...

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo By Steig Larsson

Image
Reaching onto  your expectations and outliving the hype surrounding a work is a real tough job to perform ,that's exactly how I  felt about this book .The girl with the dragon tattoo is popular name among bibliophiles and movieholics. The book was written by Steig Larsson and created for the screen by none other than David Fincher. Book begins with Mikhael Blomkovist(Journalist) losing a libel case against Hans-Erik-Wennerstrom (Swedish industrialist) for printing a baseless  article about him being involved in a financial fraud. Court orders Blomkovist to pay a hefty sum for defaming the industrialist and also grants three months of imprisonment ,to make sure he doesn't print any more scandalizing rumors for his own magazine which goes by the name , The Millenium. A disturbing past, is the greatest old school formula to create a protagonist works here also, Lisbeth Salander ,who works with Milton security on her own terms perfectly carr...

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

Image
I came across Gone Girl when I was scrolling Amazon for psychological thrillers, I wanted to order "The silent patient" but then i stumbled upon this book and its skyrocketing reviews, so i ordered the book to see what's so special about it. Book, on the top if it talks about the troubled marriage of Nick and Amy Dunne, who are both writers by profession, recently shifted to North Carthage from Brooklyn, New York to take care of Nick's leukemic Mother and to avoid consequences of being jobless due to the 2008 economic recession. Flynn tried to provide an extremely clichéd melodramatic narrative in the first part of the book where Nick is an abusing husband who's draining her sensitive, but rich wife mentally and financially to secure his own needs and Amy is so terrorized by him that she considering Nick a potential threat to her life. On the morning of their fifth wedding anniversary Amy disappears without leaving a trace .Initially the local police is sym...

The Outsider

Stephen King's imagination runs like a giant wheel ,which looks uniform on the surface but when you go for a ride you can actually feel goose flesh crawling over your body and the only noise which you can manage to hear is loud thudding of your own heartbeats. Basic tenets of King's writing are not very distinct but every time he tries to topple his performances by providing fresh plural elements which leaves us wondering that how he hits home consistently on the same canvass by using strokes which looks familiar, but yet so new. In this novel King reflects upon his comfort zone, as he explores the life of small town, kids troubling with the loss of their peers and above all a supernatural entity covered under the haze of rationality only to emerge with a mind boggling reality of its own.   Novel begins with the description of a gruesome murder of 11 year old, Frank Peterson whose body was recovered on the outskirts of Flint County, Oklahoma in a disturbingly mutilate...

Salem's lot- Remembering vampires

Image
Vampires are considered as the most celebrated and well-written entities of ancient folklores. A cold pale skin, rolling red bloodshot eyes and ferociously grown pair of incisors in the dark can make you(even if you are an atheist) grab crucifix, wear rosaries and read bible. Like, you can run to escape the shadows till you find the final glimpse of light. Sadly the vampires which are depicted in modern culture are jaw droppingly hot, who can date and make love to humans without going for jugular hickeys, they are least bothered with the growth of their clan and can surprisingly walk in broad daylights. Over the time Vampires are molded and used differently for teen fiction, dramas and movies but honestly screen friendly options  have only mocked the very existence of vampires, nowadays vampires are portrayed as vulnerable and consensual which is exactly opposite of what they originally are. Vampires are maligned evil entities to the core and Bram stoker actually provided the most g...

Why you should read Stephen King

Image
"Books are perfect entertainment: No commercials: No batteries, hours of enjoyment for each dollar spent" Stephen King The only writer who has given some of the most incredible plots and memorable characters is Stephen King. King's unparalleled gift of storytelling and distinctive ways to create heartfelt emotions, is actually the lifeblood of his works. He doesn't believe in providing regular introductions, but he leaves you in the Desert and slowly decreases the volume of layers for you to explore the phenomenal destinations and unexpected endings.   It would be a disappointment on our part if we will not recognize and understand the degree of skill, king exercises during writing, so let's reciprocate him by getting into the details and intricacies which defined King as one of the most successful writers of Modern America.   1. Good Narrative   If there's one thing common in all Stephen King books is great narratives, he loves experimenting and...
