Why you should read Stephen King

"Books are perfect entertainment: No commercials: No batteries, hours of enjoyment for each dollar spent"

Stephen King

The only writer who has given some of the most incredible plots and memorable characters is Stephen King. King's unparalleled gift of storytelling and distinctive ways to create heartfelt emotions, is actually the lifeblood of his works. He doesn't believe in providing regular introductions, but he leaves you in the Desert and slowly decreases the volume of layers for you to explore the phenomenal destinations and unexpected endings.

It would be a disappointment on our part if we will not recognize and understand the degree of skill, king exercises during writing, so let's reciprocate him by getting into the details and intricacies which defined King as one of the most successful writers of Modern America.

1. Good Narrative

If there's one thing common in all Stephen King books is great narratives, he loves experimenting and always tries to keep his writing less uniform. He introduces his characters in strange or murky situations and from there he delves into the psyche of the characters. Stephen King knows how to offer the perfect amount of thrill and excitement, he ensures that  by creating an interwoven plot filled with twists which can keep readers gripped and guessing.

2. Brilliant detailing

Stephen King offers loads and loads of description in his novels, which makes his characters more  realistic. He believes in picking up the fading details which creates a setting more relatable and fun to read.

3. Understanding of emotions

King never writes mighty or extremely heroic characters but always try to depict flawed beings who are suffering from ordinary problems. King's really honest about human emotions, he delivered powerful performances on a scale ranging from pure innocence to perilous insanity. In an interview he confessed that he had thoughts of hurting his child and wife when they tried to stop him from taking drugs and from there he got the idea of his next book "The shining".

4. Ability to scare

The cheapest thrill any book or flick can offer is "jump scare", but Stephen King is all about class when it comes to scare people. His premises are surrounded by dread which enfolds into strangeness and finally ends with a realization of evil. Its like you know what's ahead of the door but you still want to see it, face it  and get devoured by it. (Salem's lot made me question about the existence of vampires and the Shining revealed the dark phase of sobriety.)

5. Culture

Stephen King goes through extensive amount of research while writing novels. His novels try to encapsulate the essence of various traditions, cultures, mythos and history prevailed in a particular era or universe. He created an interconnected saga of stories(Multiverse) so that readers can   explore his works in different dimensions.

King is commonly stereotyped as a Horror writer, which is utterly wrong. He has written stories across   genres but sometimes the endings are too simple or difficult to digest. Overall he is a genius and if you   are looking for versatile writing then you must go for King, Stephen King.
